Thanks for the recent comments!

I know, it's been a month since I've uploaded anything... and I feel so guilty about it and do apologize. But since I've had a few questions about if I'm coming back, I thought I'd better respond in some way.

I'm chalking this recent "quietness" up to my trying to figure out what direction my life should take right now. I've been doing a lot of "soul searching" of late, and just haven't really felt like designing a whole lot.

Also, to be honest, our financial situation, while not as bad as some folks' in this area, is not the greatest and it hasn't been for the past 10 years, and we're trying to rectify that.

While I'm thankful that whatever we've needed has always been provided when we need it, I'm also realistic enough to realize that we need to better ourselves, financially... I'm not saying I expect us to some day retire in the lap of luxury... far from it. In fact, at this point, I don't ever see either myself or Brian "retiring"... at the rate we're going, we're going to be working until the day we drop, or just can't anymore. :-(

All that being said, it's been extremely difficult for me to just go out and find a job, for several reasons. #1, our area was hit extremely hard by the recent financial downturn - our county here in northern Indiana used to be the RV manufacturing capital of the world... and most of the companies either went under or drastically reduced their work forces... so any good-paying jobs are pretty much non-existent, or so it appears. #2, while I do have a bachelor's degree, since I was a stay-at-home Mom for the majority of my adult working life, I'm either under-qualified or "over age" for a lot of the computer graphics positions I do see available (and again, in this area... they're just not there, for the most part.) Also, relocating to a better job market just isn't feasible for us at this time... I'd love to move to Nashville, but the earliest I see that happening is in at least a year's time.

So, basically, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. I do enjoy the digi scrap designing, but lately, my heart just hasn't been in it. Heck, I'm not even having WDW-withdrawal like I usually do, and we don't have another trip planned... at all! We spent a long weekend in Nashville a month ago (prior to the flooding, which has just been heartbreaking to me, too!) and I'm finding myself listening more to country music than Disney music! (Never thought that would happen!)

So, like I said... I'm just not sure what's up, nor what's going to be going on with my freebies. I will, however, leave everything up online for downloading, so that anyone who happens to stumble upon this blog can get the freebies... I'm just not sure when I'll be posting any new ones, unfortunately.

Don't completely count me out, though. Who knows what will come around the corner next week, or next month!

Again, I do want to apologize to all of you... and I am so very thankful for all of the kind words you've left me here throughout this whole time! You're great! :-)

Hi everyone!

I want to let y'all know that the freebies for this week will actually be split over this week and next week. Have a great couple of weeks! I'm going to be playing the proverbial chicken for awhile... cluck cluck... ba-caaaaawk! ;-)

Thanks for your patience! 8(:-D

Final Pop Century Freebie

Here's today's (or yesterday's, technically, I suppose!) Disney-inspired digital scrapbooking freebie for you from my Pop Century kit:

If you've ever stayed at Pop and wandered around the 90's buildings, you probably have noticed all the giant CDs that are attached to the balcony railings. (If not, be sure to take a look next time - they're all different and graphically quite interesting.) Well, this chipboard element is a recreation of one of the CDs. It's about 2.5 inches square, and does not have a shadow applied to it (only the sample shown above.) You can download the zipped PNG file from here.

That's it for this week. On Monday, I'll start uploading a brand new set of freebies... where in the World will we wind up next? Stay tuned! ;-)

Until tomorrow, remember...

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible!"

Today's freebie - delayed until Saturday - sorry!

I had some unexpected work to do today, so I didn't get a chance to create a freebie for today. (Sorry!) However, I will be doing one for tomorrow to make up for it. Just an fyi! And thanks for being patient!

Have a Nice Day...

... and you'll definitely have one with this Disney-inspired digital scrapbook element based on Disney's Pop Century Resort!

Monday's freebie was from the 50s area, yesterday's was the 60s, so it only follows that today's is from the 70s section of Pop! ;-)

This Mickey smiley face embellishment is approximately 3x3 inches at 300 dpi, and it has a puffy felt look to it. You can download the zipped PNG file from here. The image you'll download will not have any shadows applied to it, only the sample shown above.

That's it for today; tomorrow... the 80s... and until then, remember:

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible!"

Cannonball!

Right into the Hippy Dippy Pool, that is! ;-)

Today's Disney-inspired digital scrapbooking freebie is an 8 x 4 inch (approx.) title for all of your Pop Century swimming pool layouts! (At least, those that feature the Hippy Dippy Pool, of course!)

You can download the zipped PNG file from here; you'll receive the full 300-dpi image file - there will be just some slight shadowing applied to the "Hippy Dippy Pool" text - not the flowers as shown in the sample above.

That's it for today; until tomorrow, remember:

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible!"

Getting back to the freebies!

Okay! I'm finally back to doing my Disney-inspired digital scrapbooking freebies! I really want to thank everyone for being patient... I'm not 100% certain as to how long I'll be doing the freebies, but for the foreseeable future, I'm doing so. (I am going to try to jump-start my digital artwork again once the weather warms up and the scenery gets a little prettier around here - winter is never a time I enjoy getting out to do photography! But until I get too bogged down with my prints, I'll be continuing creating digi scrap items!)

Another change I'll be implementing with my freebies is that I'll only be giving away 5 freebies per week, Monday thru Friday. I was really starting to get a little burned out, frankly, and this way, I can take a bit of a breather on the weekends. We tend to do a lot together as a family on the weekends, and Sundays are basically a complete write-off for me, between church taking up the morning and then family stuff for most of the rest of the day... you get the picture!

So... without further ado (since, let's face it... we're talking FREEBIES!)... here's today's Disney-inspired digital scrapbooking freebie... direct from the Pop Century Resort in sunny Orlando... ta da!

It's a 12x12 inch, 300-dpi paper that practically screams Pop Century's 50's area! ;-) Pop Century is one of my favorite resorts to stay at WDW, and while we've never stayed in the 50s area, I'm always drawn to the fun location.

You can download the zipped file from here and you'll receive the full 300-dpi file. This paper will really enhance all of your photos from the Pop 50s area, I'm certain! :-)

That's it for today; until tomorrow, remember:

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible!"

Monday, March 8, 2010

Thanks so very much, y'all!!

I just want to touch base with everyone - I know it's been a couple of weeks since I posted anything here... I really didn't expect this project that Brian & I are working on to take this long, but it has and I've also been taking the opportunity to do a little "soul searching" as to what I want to be working on, artistically speaking.

I'll be honest; I keep bouncing all over the place... from my digital photography to digital watercolor prints to digi scrapping to web design to animation (which is along the lines of the current project)... unfortunately, I'm a Jill of all trades when it comes to digital art, apparently! (You know the saying, "Jack of all trades, master of none"... yeah, it applies...) It's really frustrating, because I really do enjoy working in all the various mediums that I've been playing around with... yet I know that I really should buckle down and concentrate on just one - or else I'll never be a real success with any of them. (Sigh.)

Don't panic, tho... I have a feeling I'm still edging towards the digi scrap stuff... I might not always be concentrating on the Disney-inspired work, though. Although, I have a feeling anything I do design will always "work" with Disney layouts (I just can't break away from it completely, I'm finding!) ;-)

That's it for today... nothing earth-shattering, I guess, but I don't want everyone worrying, either. (And again, thanks for all the words of encouragement!) :-)

Now, if only spring would truly get here to Indiana... I'd be a whole lot happier! ;-)

Back soon, I promise!

No freebies for a few days... sorry!

I wanted to let y'all know that I won't be posting any freebies for a few days... I have a project I'm working on that's taking up all of the time I'd normally be using for design work. When it's finished, I'll put up a link to it... it's completely unrelated to scrapping, so I have to really put a lot of thought into it.

I hope you're not too disappointed!

But I'll be back, I promise! (With a brand new set of freebies, to boot!)

Until then, remember:

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible!"

This should work really well for any of your Disney (even non-Disney!) weddings or other romantically-themed layouts. :-)

That's it for today; we've got even more snow coming... just what I don't really need or want! So until tomorrow, keep warm, keep dry, and remember:

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible!"

This frame is approximately 4x4 inches at 300 dpi, and you can download the zipped PNG file from here. And as usual, the PNG file you'll download will not be shadowed... just the sample shown above! :-)

That rounds out the 7 freebies from this kit for this week... make sure you come back tomorrow to see what the next set will be! (Hint... think "Valentines"... ;-) )

That's it for today; until tomorrow, remember:

And a tip of Jack's hat to this week's kit...

That's right... today's the final day of my freebies from this week's Disney-inspired digital scrapbook kit, my "MK-Adventureland-Pirates" kit! And in honor of that, I'm giving you your very own Jack Sparrow pirate hat!

What's great about this (approximately) 1 inch by 3 inch (at 300 dpi) pirate hat embellishment is this: it's sized to fit yesterday's pirate skull freebie! (Or any other similarly-sized pirate head you might have handy!) So you can have your skeleton head wearing Jack's hat... or going without! ;-)

You can download the zipped PNG file from here; the image you'll get will not have any shadows applied to it (the sample up above has them applied just to illustrate how it will look once you add them to it on your layout.)

A great big "Thank You!" to everyone for the comments you've left me! You guys (gals?) really are a huge source of inspiration to me. Whenever I seem to get "artist's block" I tend to re-read some of your comments... and it really does help me out! :-)

That's it for today... until tomorrow (and the start of a brand new kit!), remember:

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible!"

Dead men tell no tales… tales…

Today’s Disney-inspired digital scrapbook freebie from my “MK-Adventureland-Pirates” kit won’t tell any tales, either, but it will definitely bring your Pirates layouts to life! ;-)

This pirate skull embellishment is approximately 2 inches wide by nearly 3 inches tall at 300 dpi; you can download the zipped PNG file here. The file you’ll download does not have any shadows applied to it; I added them to the sample above just for illustration purposes.

Each of these corners are a little over 1 inch by 1 inch at 300 dpi; you can download the zipped PNG file here. The file you’ll download will not have any shadows applied to it; I only put them on the sample up above to illustrate how they’ll look with a small shadow added to it.

Every pirate needs some booty!

And today’s Disney-inspired digital scrapbook freebie (from my “MK-Adventureland-Pirates” kit) will provide just that!

MK-Adventureland-Pirates_Coins_corner1_sample

This embellishment of gold coins is approximately 4x6 inches at 300 dpi – it will bring a definite piratical flair to any of your Pirate layouts! (I like the look of this set of coins in the lower left corner of the page… but be bold! Put ‘em wherever you need a little booty!) ;-)

You can download the zipped PNG file from here; this time, I have applied a small drop shadow to the individual coins – it enhances the sense of realism that way – so you might want to take note of the direction for your other shadows (the light hits from the upper left corner, forcing the shadow to the lower right.)

That’s it for today; I hope everyone is having a good week, plundering some of these freebies! ;-) Until tomorrow, remember:

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible!”

Here’s a Pirates background for you!

Every pirate themed scrapbook layout needs a themed background paper, so here’s today’s Disney-inspired digital scrapbook freebie from my “MK-Adventureland-Pirates” kit that will fit the bill!

MK-Adventureland-Pirates_paper1_sample

You can download this 12x12 inch, 300 dpi paper from here.

I’m experimenting a bit with my schedule this week (trying to get some work around the house done during daylight hours, which seems to work better for me, and doing my design work at night) so my uploads may be later in the day than usual. I’ll see if this works better for me – but I might always change it again, who knows?

That’s it for today; until tomorrow, remember:

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible!”

Ye come seeking adventure and salty old pirates, aye?

Sure you’ve come to the proper place! ;-) Here’s today’s Disney-inspired digital scrapbook freebie from my “MK-Adventureland-Pirates” kit for today!

MK-Adventureland-Pirates_Title1_sample

It’s a title for your Pirates page – this image is approximately 9 x 2 inches at 300 dpi, so it’s sized perfectly to use as a title… or you can shrink it down to use at a smaller size if you wish! You can download the zipped PNG file from here; the file you’ll download will not have any shadows applied to it – I only applied them to the sample above for illustrative purposes.

Thanks to all of you for your wonderful comments! I’m really glad that you’re enjoying this kit, especially so early on in the week! (But it’s hard to miss with the pirate theme, huh?) ;-)

Let’s all go on a Jungle Cruise!

Ahoy, and welcome aboard! Today’s the start of a new week, and as well the start of a new set of Disney-inspired digital scrapbooking freebies for you! I’m starting with a brand new kit; here’s today’s freebie from my MK – Adventureland – Jungle Cruise kit!

MK_Adventure_Jungle_Cruise-JKTopper1_sample

This retro-inspired page topper is a full 12 inches wide by approximately 2 inches tall (300 dpi) and is the perfect topper / title for a Jungle Cruise layout! :-) (While I realize that the current Jungle Cruise boats don’t have striped tops, I just couldn’t resist adding a little nostalgic “tip o’ the hat” to the boats from yesteryear! So, while we have stripes, they’re in the same color scheme as the current boats.) ;-)

You can download the zipped PNG file from here; I hope you enjoy this freebie, and our ride down the various rivers of the Jungle Cruise this week!

Until tomorrow, remember…
